Hybridge dental implants could be just what you need.

Are your upper or lower teeth missing or severely decayed? If so, there are restorative dental treatments that can help. One of those is Hybridge dental implants.

This unique, full mouth restoration can help renew your confidence, rejuvenate your smile, and restore your well-being. Today, we’re taking a closer look at how this treatment works and what you can expect.

How much do these dental implants cost? How long will the process take? Let’s explore the answers to these questions and more.

What are Hybridge dental implants?

A Hybridge dental implant is a fixed denture, included in the category of All-on-4 dental implants. It’s designed for patients with significant tooth loss, who are looking for a permanent solution that meets these criteria:

  • Does not contain any removable parts
  • Will not slip or move when chewing or speaking
  • Mimics the appearance of natural teeth
  • Eliminates the need for constant dental care

A Hybridge dental implant can be placed on one jaw or both. Built on a foundation of dental implants, it’s the only solution on the market that follows a strict clinical protocol and requires an extensive training program for dental professionals to become Hybridge-certified dentists.

How does Hybridge differ from a regular implant?

Dentists routinely place dental implants for patients missing one or more teeth. But what sets Hybridge apart?

First, Hybridge is considered more of a prosthetic restoration than a dental implant. With a conventional implant, the final treatment consists of a porcelain crown or bridge secured on top of a titanium post that has fully fused to the jawbone. While this can be a successful treatment if you’re missing one or a few teeth, it’s not usually meant to cover a full arch.

With a Hybridge treatment, the final product is a cross-linked polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and chrome cobalt bridge. With the support of just five or six dental implants, it can replace up to 12 teeth!

How long does the process take?

Another distinguishing feature is the timeline of a Hybridge implant. While placing conventional dental implants can take up to 18 months or longer to complete, you can expect a much quicker process with a Hybridge implant. This means it’s also more cost-effective.

There are a few different factors that will affect your overall treatment time. These include:

  • The number of teeth you have at the start of treatment
  • Any requirements for bone grafting
  • Upper versus lower restoration
  • The presence of any dental infections at the start of treatment

When we measure treatment time, we usually start at the beginning of your first surgical procedure. Your treatment will end when the Hybridge restoration is successfully inserted.

For some people, the entire process can take as little as two weeks. If you have significant dental issues or require extensive bone grafting, this timeline can be extended up to 16 weeks or more. When you visit your Hybridge-certified dentist for an initial consultation, you can get a more accurate assessment of the anticipated duration.

How much do these dental implants cost?

Put simply, there isn’t a universal cost for a Hybridge dental restoration. Your dental condition, including the number of remaining teeth you have and the amount of bone available, will determine the extent and the price of treatment provided.

Due to these variables, it’s always best to talk to your dentist before planning any treatment. They’ll be able to answer questions, such as “How much is a tooth implant?”, so you can plan and prepare!

Will my insurance cover it?

Your dental insurance provider is the best authority to contact for an answer to this question. There are lots of different coverage options and plans available, and many will cover at least a portion of your dental implants.

In our experience, this portion is often minimal. As such, it’s important to consider financing options when planning your treatment. Keep in mind that Medicaid, Medicare, and medical insurance do not offer coverage for a Hybridge treatment.

Is there an age requirement?

A Hybridge restoration can benefit both the young and the old. Currently, this treatment is limited to patients between the ages of 21 and 93. Even if you’re within this range, keep in mind that there are other considerations that factor into your qualification. Your dentist will also evaluate your mouth’s ability to heal, which can be negatively impacted if you smoke. They’ll also take your overall health into account, and will require an assessment from your physician before starting treatment.

Will periodontitis make the treatment unsuccessful?

Are you one of the 42% of Americans suffering from periodontitis? This could be the reason why you’re missing teeth and seeking a Hybridge treatment. If so, you can rest assured that your condition should not affect the performance of your implant. In fact, once you remove the affected teeth to place the implant, you’ll effectively treat your gum disease. Moreover, Hybridge restoration patients aren’t usually at risk of developing periodontal disease.

Still, once the implant is in place, it’s important to follow careful dental hygiene to keep it in great shape! We recommend visiting our office for a thorough cleaning every four months.

What can I eat?

If you’re missing teeth, chances are you’ve had to give up some of your favorite foods. You can look forward to enjoying them again once your Hybridge implant is in place! The only restricted foods are those that are harder than your teeth or items that require crushing, such as:

  • Hard nuts
  • Ice
  • Popcorn kernels
  • Hard candies

These items can damage the surface of your Hybridge implant, but the wear and tear is usually minor and can be reversed in our office.

How long will they last?

When you invest in a Hybridge restoration, you’re getting a durable, top-of-the-line implant that is designed to last for years. This unique restoration features two different kinds of sturdy materials. The chrome cobalt metal used to construct the bridge is incredibly strong, while the PPMA teeth and pink acrylic “gums” of the implant are likewise durable. These materials are veneered to the metal core for an all-in-one solution.

As long as you take care of your implant as you would your natural teeth and gums, you can expect minimal maintenance.

Discover the Hybridge difference!

A Hybridge dental restoration can give you a brand-new outlook on life. Not only does it give you back your smile, but it can also improve your confidence and help you chew and eat more easily. While advanced dental implants cost more than some other restorative treatments, they’re well worth the investment.
